Carbon Canyon Regional Park

Carbon Canyon Regional Park, located in Brea, California, spans 124 acres and was established in 1975. The area, formerly known as Olinda, was initially settled by farmers and ranchers before the 1880s. The discovery of oil in the late 19th century transformed Olinda into a thriving oil boom town until the 1940s. To mitigate flood risks from Carbon Canyon Creek, an earthfill dam was constructed in 1959, leading to the creation of the park upstream from the dam. The park now serves as a recreational space, preserving the area's natural beauty and historical significance.

Visitors to Carbon Canyon Regional Park can enjoy a variety of activities, including:
Hiking: Explore the 1.1-mile nature trail leading to a unique 3-acre grove of Coastal Redwoods, the only redwood grove in Orange County.
