Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, opened in September 1963, is the world's largest rotating tramcar. It transports passengers from the Sonoran Desert floor to the alpine wilderness of Mount San Jacinto State Park. The tramway was envisioned in 1935 by electrical engineer Francis Crocker as a means to escape the desert heat by ascending to the cooler elevations of the San Jacinto Mountains. Construction began in 1960, and the tramway has since become a testament to engineering prowess.

At the Mountain Station, situated at 8,516 feet above sea level, visitors can enjoy:
